For over 30 years Cub Scout Pack 44 has enjoyed serving the Salem area. Our scouting program is a year-round family-oriented organization providing boys -- grades 1 through 5 -- with a program to promote citizenship, teamwork, and self-confidence through a variety of community and outdoor activities.
Our mission is to instill strong character values while providing a chance to have fun and learn about our world. Pack 44 reflects the makeup of our community, teaching boys to respect everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, or background. We also emphasize serving the needs of others through service projects to our community.
Scouting is a family activity and your active participation is important to the successful future of your children. Your participation in scouting not only shows you are committed to your child's scouting life, but it is an investment into their future. Come grow with us and help make a difference for the Cub Scouts and our community.
Did you know that Scouts with five years tenure are more likely to:
• Assume leadership roles in clubs and school organizations;
• Put the needs of others before themselves;
• Make the most honest, not the easiest, decisions.
And -- when compared with those not having prior scouting experience, men who were Scouts as boys:
• Graduate from high school (98% vs. 83%)
• Graduate from college (40% vs. 16%)
• Earn annual incomes of at least $50,000 (33% vs. 17%)
We invite you and any family or friends who have an interest to attend any event of Pack 44. You will see how much your sons will grow while participating in scouting
Pack 44 normally meets the fourth Monday each month at Sumpter Elementary School, located in south Salem. Dens also meet on other Mondays of the month at the Sumpter Elementary School.
